Well as far as birthdays go, I'd have to live to 120 years old to top this one and it's only 5pm! I intended to grab a macaron while visiting the Pierre Herme's stall at the Galeries La Fayette, but while walking from the Metro station I stumbled upon Laduree!!!!! Anyone who knows me (well my cakey friends that is) will understand why I nearly wet myself. I seriously had tears in my eyes as I walked in and wandered around. You are not allowed to take photos inside but I managed to pretend the Flip recorder was a mobile phone and took some sneaky shots!
We had afternoon tea at the Bar which was so incredibly special (Chris had a beer!!!). I spent ALOT of money on the way out and Chris and I will be enjoying a fabulous dessert tonight after our dinner. Everything is done with such 'fabulous-ness', from the purchase to the packaging and the actual product is even better than it looks. I have kept every single thing from this experience, even the receipt is stunning!
15,000 macarons alone are sold every single day! I waited in line for 30mins just to get some cakes to takeaway with me..... and it was worth every single minute :O)
Oh ans PS: Yes I did try the Pierre Herme Macaron as well and it was INCREDIBLE - Passionfruit with a milk chocolate ganache.... YUM
OK now I'm hungry, looks amazing
